Material Care

Care Information

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and treat occasionally (every three to four months) with an aniline cleaner. Avoid rubbing vigorously.

Important: Avoid intensive exposure to sunlight, as it can lead to severe fading.

DUST

Remove with a soft, dry cloth

DRY DIRT

Gently brush loose debris from surface. Follow up by lightly applying an aniline cleaner and treating leather surface according to its instructions. Dye transfer is possible.

LIQUIDS

Even beer, soft drinks, wine, orange juice, liquors, etc., are no problem because our leather is liquid repellent. Simply dab the liquid away immediately.

Promptly dry area by dabbing with an absorptive cloth. Do not rub. Follow up with dry dirt cleaning instructions, if necessary. Dye transfer is possible.

FOODS AND FAT

Follow dry dirt instructions. Should a grease spot still remain visible, do not attempt to further remove it. It will gradually absorb into the leather.

DIFFICULT STAINS

Even difficult stains like wax crayons, lipstick, crayons, water-soluble ink and shoe polish can be removed per the cleaning instructions if treated immediately.

MORE DIFFICULT STAINING

More difficult stains like nail polish, lead pens, ball-point pens, etc., can be removed with a special cleaning agent under certain circumstances; however, the surface of the leather can become damaged with improper application. Please contact your local leather care specialist or authorized W.SCHILLIG retailer.

Long Life Care Kit by W.SCHILLIG

When dealing with liquids, first soak up excess by dabbing it with a soft, dry cloth. Soiling like cream, shoe polish, butter, lipstick, and water-soluble crayons should be treated immediately as instructed in point number three (3).

Saturate the enclosed sponge with deep-acting Leather Cleaner.

Create foam with the sponge by squeezing. Let the foam react on the spot for a short time, and then treat the area with the foam using circular motions until the soiling is no longer visible. If need be, repeat the process again.

Dab treated area with a soft, dry cloth

Let the cleaned area dry completely (at least 30 minutes).

Afterwards use the enclosed care cloth to evenly apply Leather Cream to the cleaned area for waterproofing. After another 30 minutes, the waterproofed area is again soft and super easy to clean.

Leathers should be treated 2- 4 times per year with the Long Life Care Kit independently from any soiling. By doing so, your leather will remain soft, beautiful and defect free for many years to come.
